“Research shows young people start to form ideas about their future from an early age and can form them around their own experiences. I visit primary schools to expand young people’s knowledge of healthcare careers by representing the best parts of their job roles, its a really nice experience.
I have developed a teddy bear hospital to help explain different roles to younger children, I take mini uniforms and equipment for role play activities and make links to the school curriculum, such as science, PSHE and healthy eating topics.
I have enjoyed the process of making new connections with primary schools in Somerset and the feeling of having made an impact in the community – We all have a responsibility to do that.
You have an engaged and captivated audience ; The younger people are far more enthusiastic!
