Inspiring the Next Generation Through Innovative Careers Outreach.
AIP Welding is delivering an innovative and inspiring careers project across Somerset, giving young people a unique hands-on introduction to welding and engineering in conjunction with the Somerset Careers Hub. Led by Kim, a passionate industry professional, the project has bought a fully equipped van with Virtual Reality welding experience directly into schools, including SEND settings and Alternative ProvisionsThis initiative makes technical careers accessible, exciting, safe and inclusive for all abilities.
What the Project Offers
Students experience welding in a safe, engaging, and immersive way through VR simulations and practical demonstrations. These sessions help young people discover new strengths, build confidence, and understand the range of careers in the welding and engineering sector.
Working closely with the Careers Hub and local schools, AIP Welding contributes valuable employer encounters aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks, helping schools strengthen their careers provision.
This workshop is designed to give students hands-on experience and insight into a growing industry with excellent career prospects. It’s an engaging way to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
Impact on Young People
