Abbie Thompson

I am the Project Officer for the Somerset Careers Hub. I support the whole team with a variety of tasks such as on going project support, the Careers Hub website and the Virtual Meeting Room.

My aim throughout my career has always been to ensure all young people have access to opportunities to help them succeed the best they can and being part of the Somerset Careers Hub certainly offers an ongoing source of opportunities, recourses and information to schools, carers and young people of all the possibilities for their future.

I achieved my degree in Early Years in 2010, then became the manager of a local preschool which lead me onto working for Somerset Council in the Early Years Team. I have since then worked within the Free School Meals team and  Children’s Social Care which has given me further skills and knowledge to now be part of the Somerset Careers Hub.

Outside of work I love spending time with my Husband and 2 daughters, Running, cycling or being outdoors walking in the fresh air!
